Fantasy Baseball Dugout’s 2010 Rankings

The season is upon us once again – and the time has come to get ready for fantasy baseball. Without further adu, it’s time to debut the 2010 fantasy baseball rankings from Fantasy Baseball Dugout.

Ranking the players for 2010 fantasy baseball seems eerily similar to how the rankings began in 2009. Albert Pujols, who these days is never far away from the top of any baseball player ranking, sits atop the Fantasy Baseball Dugout overall player rankings for a second consecutive year. The 2009 NL MVP’s 5×5 numbers are well-documented on our site – he hit .327 with 47 home runs, 135 RBI, 124 runs and 16 steals. Pujols led the majors in homers and runs – and you better take him first overall in any mixed-league or NL-only draft in 2010.

Other things are still the same heading into the 2010 fantasy baseball season. Joe Mauer is your top catcher. Although – will he put those power numbers together again in 2010? Hanley Ramirez remains on his own tier at the shortstop position – and he can’t be touched by Jimmy Rollins or anyone else.

Young pitchers are going to step up and help you win your non-hitting categories. But, which young pitchers are going to be your difference maker? An electric starter like Neftali Feliz or a lights out closer like Andrew Bailey?

Over the course of the next few days, the 2010 fantasy baseball rankings from Fantasy Baseball Dugout are going to the hit the internet. Let the debating begin! Of course, after you use our rankings to help you navigate a successful draft, you should review our 50 League Winning Tips so you stay on top after you draft.
