About BallparkBob
BallparkBob is admittedly a Phillies fan, but a fan of baseball in general. You know you love baseball when you are driving out of town and stop to watch a Little League game.
An ex-high school middle infielder who could have benefited from an aluminum bat, BallparkBob has moved on to coach youth travel baseball teams and the local Junior American Legion team. BallparkBob also writes a blog on MLBlogs, is the author of the best selling book ever about 900 numbers, and is well known as an expert in mobile marketing and online dating.
BallparkBob has attended four Phillies Phantasy Camps where he has been coached by Del Unser, Steve Bedrosian, Bruce Ruffin, Al Holland, and Pete Rose
Jr. BallparkBob is often mistaken in the Philadelphia area for ex-Phillies pitcher Paul Byrd. On two occasions, BallparkBob has even signed an autograph on behalf of Mr. Byrd when fans insisted that he was the current Indians Red Sox inactive pitcher. So, be careful if you are buying a Paul Byrd autograph on BallparkBob’s ebay site.
BallparkBob once got two strikes on John Kruk at Phantasy Camp before the Krukker hit the third strike off the right field wall. He was lucky and the right fielder held Kruk, likely suffering from a late night binge with Larry Andersen, to a single. BallparkBob’s lone major league hit (in Phantasy Camp) came off of Stan Bahnsen.
It was a curve.
