Justin Verlander’s Girlfriend
Justin Verlander and his long-time girlfriend, Emily Yuen, started dating as seniors at Goochland High (Va.). During his senior year, Verlander had four classes with his then-friend, now longtime girlfriend, Yuen. “We were very talkative, and we had to be separated in class,” Yuen says. “Justin is very much the social butterfly.”

“We just celebrated our 10-year anniversary in December,” Verlander said. “Now, we have the new place back home in Goochland. It’s about 15 minutes from where I grew up — nice and quiet. There’s a nice golf course, which is a must for me, but we migrate south after Christmas.”
Verlander and Yuen are simple types, although there’s nothing simple about Verlander’s 100 MPH fastball. ”We like movies. I like anything — especially Matt Damon and Liam Neeson movies. And I like fantasy and magic, the Harry Potter movies. I’m kind of a homebody. We like it back there, though. I was a big fish in a little pond in Goochland, but it suits me.”
Despite signing an $85 million contract, not much has changed for Verlander and Yuen since they met in high school. “He’s still the same goofy kid I met 10 years ago,” Yuen says. “He has matured a lot when it comes to business sense.”
With that kind of money, I certainly hope so.
