The Toronto Blue Jays are beginning to experiment with what they may have for the future. Yesterday, the Jays called up third baseman Brett Lawrie and the 21-year-old will be given the rest of the season to show Toronto just what he can do.
Travis Snider, another youngster at just 23, earned the demotion. The Jays prospect was hitting just .225 on the year and he’s been a whiff king. In fact, on Wednesday night, Snider was a perfect 4 for 4; he fanned in all 4 plate appearances.
With Lawrie now in the Bigs, Jose Bautista moves back to the outfield where he probably belongs.
But, it is Lawrie that is making the big news. Brett Lawrie has hit 18 homers and is batting .353 in 69 minor league games this year. That makes Brett Lawrie a must pick-up player in all fantasy baseball leagues right now.
