One of Matthew Berry's drafting strategies listed in his annual draft kit is to maximize your batters fantasy potential and use the waiver wire to stream pitchers that were overlooked during the draft- you're lucky to find a top 50 SP in a ten team league thru the WW. Most analysts also underscore the point that batters are usually more reliable than pitchers, especially RPs. Let's face it- owner interest in either fantasy basketball or fantasy baseball is almost non-existent compared to fantasy football- people rarely initiate trades, work the waiver wire, even properly setting up lineups for the upcoming week.
If more owners had a competitive streak to them, then going the extra length to maximize the fantasy point potential for the pitcher's roster spots is fine.

It is easy to fix your first comment. If you are in a points league just increase the negative values for losses,bb, hits, and era and then decrease the points you get for every inning pitched.

For roto I wouldn't have a complete FA acquisitions limit just a limit the number of games started allowed per year adjusted to the size of your league.

It's not managing better, it's abusing a loophole in the rules. Swapping pitchers based on matchups/changes in ability/etc is legitimate. Mass swapping pitchers every day so you have over 200 innings pitched per week is poor sportsmanship. It's not rewarding skill but mere volume.

I came here to post about this article and I see that "new reader" already said what I was going to say.You are mad because the other guy was a much better manager than the others in the league. He managed within the rules that were established and probably drafted his team according to those rules. There is nothing in fantasy baseball that says you shouldn't try to score as many points as possible.its not like in real baseball where you are doing something dishoneest if you try to look back and steal the catchers singals.

who cares if someone streams pitchers. If it works so well for him then others should follow suit. Transaction limits are lame. The best part of fantasy baseball is adding and dropping players to tweak your roster.

Agreed. On a side note, I think I might have to add that a "minimum innings pitched limit" is a pretty dumb rule, too. Thanks for bringing that up.

Daily pitcher streaming is easily combated with a maximum innings pitched limit, which is preferable to a transactions cap.
