2011 Second Base Rankings

Fantasy Baseball Second Base Rankings
There isn’t a more consistent second baseman in fantasy baseball than Chase Utley. At the second base position in fantasy baseball, Chase Utley is da man. Year in, year out, fantasy baseball owners know what to expect from Utley.
Robinson Cano had a fantastic season in 2010, and a lot of rankings show Cano ahead of Utley coming into 2011. Heading into 2011 at Fantasy Baseball Dugout, Utley still has the consistency in the high production categories year in, year out… and that’s good enough for us to rank him at the top of our rankings in 2011.
Second base is a ridiculously thin position in fantasy baseball. If most fantasy owners weren’t required to draft a second baseman, you could easily make a case for only 7 second baseman really being considered “draftable.”
Ian Kinsler is a close no. 3 to Utley and Cano, and it is possible he could produce better power numbers in a comparable number of games. When it comes to second baseman in fantasy baseball, however, the conversation always begins with Chase Utley… and that’s the case once again in 2011.
2011 Fantasy Baseball Second Base Rankings
Due to the thinness at the position in 2011, drafting a quality second baseman is going to be critical to success in fantasy baseball. There are three high quality second basemen to consider, and then it’s pretty much an even field throughout the rest of the top 10. Check out our list below of the Top 25 at the position heading into your 2011 fantasy baseball draft.
