Ranking the players for 2011 fantasy baseball seems eerily similar to how the rankings began in 2010… and 2009. Albert Pujols, who these days is never far away from the top of any baseball player ranking, sits atop the Fantasy Baseball Dugout overall player rankings for a third consecutive year. Pujols hit .312 with 42 home runs, 118 RBI, 115 runs and 14 steals. Pujols led the NL in homers, RBI and runs – and because of his historic consistency, you better take him first overall in any mixed-league or NL-only draft in 2011.

Other things are still the same heading into the 2011 fantasy baseball season. Joe Mauer is your top catcher. Although, the biggest question surrounding him is if he can put up those power numbers he amassed in 2009 as he enters his 27-year old season? Hanley Ramirez remains on his own tier at the shortstop position and is the player most likely to make a case as the no. 1 overall player aside from Pujols.

Young pitchers are going to step up and help you win your non-hitting categories. But, which young pitchers are going to be your difference maker? An electric closer like Neftali Feliz or a lights out starter like Ubaldo Jimenez?
