What were the most talked about sports and teams of 2010? Social media influence website Klout.com took a measure across all of 2010′s social media. Here’s what they found:
Soccer was the most talked about sport (boo). The LA Lakers were the most talked about team (ok). LeBron was one of the most influential people. In fact, he was more influential than Lady Gaga (sweet) and just behind Steve Jobs (shocking).

Sports: Apparently soccer is a pretty popular sport worldwide. The fervor around the World Cup made soccer the most influential sport of 2010. People also like to talk about golf… a lot more than I would have expected. Although I imagine Tiger Woods’ goings-on have a lot to do with that. Baseball finished fifth.
Sports Teams: The LA Lakers won the championship this year – but I’m a little surprised to see them top this list. Perhaps that is because the NBA is more popular globally than the NFL and MLB. However, the Yankees fervent fan base made them a consistently influential topic. Also happy to see the San Francisco Giants made it on the list since they won the World Series and all.
