Gordie, good point and let me be more specific in my first baseman rankings as of this point in time. When it comes to a key power position like first base, I like to go with the sure things. That means going with the guys who have been consistently putting up the huge numbers the longest. Hence, Pujols will be my # 1. I agree with my colleague BeeZee that Cabrera's stats are too good to ignore as #2. As for #3, I'd go with Ryan Howard over Joey Votto based on having had more consistently awesome seasons. That leaves Votto, Teixeira, and Gonzalez to battle for the 4,5, and 6 positions. Votto's plus is he can can give you some rare steals for a first sacker. Personally, I think I'd wait as long as possible to pick up one of the three, because I don't see much difference, but if I had to make a choice, I'd take Gonzalez as my # 4.

That's true... but the trade clearly has moved him up the projections for 2011. How far is the real question. He was our no. 7 rated first baseman coming into 2011 while still a member of the Pads... is it crazy to project him at no. 4 now that he's a member of the BoSox?

Why state the obvious? When he played at Petco park, Adrian Gonzales was considered one of the top first baseman in any fantasy baseball draft.
