There is a lot more to Rizzo's job than team wins. Look at how much the team has improved in a year or so. Major talents like Dunn, Strasburg, Harper, Maya, and Ramos. The way he's put together a staff of some of most respected professionals in the game, to help with scouting and front office decisions. This is an organization that has gone from joke to force in a very short time. The Pirates certainly haven't done it and they've stunk far longer.

No way you can name Mike Rizzo Exec of the Year when his team is set for another last place finish. That said, he does have two of the most hyped and valued no. 1 draft picks in recent memory under contract for quite some time. It will be interesting to see how the Nats handle that.

Bryce Harper is as close to a sure thing as a player his age can be. He has power at the top of the scales and has worked at this his entire life. The Nationals are getting big time. Mike Rizzo for executive of the year, Nationals for organization of the year.
