Fantasy Baseball Dugout would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Hottest Baseball Wives Club of Boston – Krista (Clark) Lackey, wife of new Sox starter John.
The Lackey’s got engaged in February 2008 and got hitched in November of 2008.
Krista is a New Englander at heart and the main cause for Lackey’s signing with the Sox being a “family decision.” She went to high school in Maine and went to college at the University of New Hampshire. Her family moved to California after she graduated college. In Cali, the former Miss Clark met the former Angels ace Lackey - the rest is history.
As far as living arrangements are concerned, right now speculation is that the couple plan on spending half the year in Boston, and half the year in California.
Mr. Lackey’s 83-million dollar deal is a nice payday for a no. 2 or no. 3 starter, and he makes the Red Sox rotation one of MLB’s best. He’s only 2-5 career at Fenway Park with a 5.75 ERA – we’re guessing that will change moving forward.
Assuming his health allows him to play a full season in 2010, look for Lackey to pitch over around 200 innings, strike out 150+, win 14 games and carry an ERA right around 3.50. Just like he will for the Red Sox, Lackey should be a great SP2 or high-end SP3 for any fantasy baseball owner in 2010.
