Baseball’s Hottest Wife Nominee: Leigh Teixiera
OK, I agree, she’s more of a pretty and perky wife rather than a sexy and sultry wife, but we all have our own ideas of beauty. Leigh Teixera is the kind of girl that got good grades, was a cheerleader, and the Homecoming Queen in high school. You know, the kind of girl that none of us dated.
Red Sox fans won’t like the fact that Leigh Teixera said that she didn’t like Boston so that’s why she helped convince Mark Teixiera to come to New York and sign the fourth largest contract in MLB history . Seems like just the right thing to say when your husband signs a $180 million contract over 8 years. Of course, just take one look at Leigh and you have to figure she’d say the right thing.

The Red Sox were the early leaders in the Teixiera race and Mark and agent Scott Boras were simply waiting for teams to start dropping out of the running back in December. That was, until Mark and Leigh were out to dinner at a country club in Texas and Leigh said: “I want you to be happy. I want you to be a Yankee.”
Eleven days later, Teixiera inked the $180 million deal with the Yankees.
Sounds like another Yankee legend in the making, especially since Tex didn’t end up in Beantown.

You have to love Teixeira. He’s been a monster for the Yankees. The wind tunnel to right in the new stadium is going to make him a certain hall-of-famer, even as a player during the steroid era.
