I currently live in the UK and I have to say that Baseball is not that popular here at all, it is Football. I wish it was or I lived in the USA as it is a great sport and it is very underrated here.

I don’t think so William. The Nationals have shown that they will spend a little now with the signing of Adam Dunn. I know this was an off-year for big money to free agents due to the economy, but Washington did pay $20 million for two years for Dunn. The Nationals have a new stadium with some very expensive seats and they need to gain the respect of the fans and get the deal done, even though they have to deal with Boras.

Is there any chance that the Red Sox or Yankees would trade a bunch of prospects and a pile of money for the Nationals first pick?

I agree, a rookie salary cap would allow teams in smaller markets to take advantage of their high draft pick and equalize the playing field so to speak.

Scott Boras is a creep. I really think MLB needs to institute a rookie salary cap. It’s outrageous that bad teams may miss out on a player because they can’t meet these ridiculous financial demands…
