Fantasy Baseball Tweets 1-11: Aubrey Huff
@fantasyfix i guess i can see that. aubrey huff was much more attractive when he had multi-position eligibility. i’ve been burned in the past by him tho
Fantasy Baseball Tip: Aubrey Huff will likely only have 1B eligibility in 2009, thus limiting his value as a fantasy baseball player next season. He’s also coming off arguably his career year (.304 average / 32 homers / 108 RBI / 96 runs / 4 steals), meaning he will likely be drafted a little too early by most this year.
His career averages of .287 / 26 / 92 / 82 / 3 are probably more realistic for Huff in 2009 – maybe even lower than that in the RBI and runs department. While he will make a solid player to draft in 2009 fantasy leagues, we can’t recommend him as a draft pick for your starting 1B.
As a reserve 1B, corner infielder, or DH/utility, he can be a good investment, however. Currently, we have him ranked as the no. 11 first baseman heading into next season.
