Heidi DeRosa Voted Baseball’s Hottest Wife
DeRosa, wife of Chicago Cubs’ infielder-outfielder Mark DeRosa, received 33% of the nearly 3500 votes cast by readers of the popular web site that spends most of its time giving tips and advice to fantasy baseball players.
Jamie Kotsay, wife of Red Sox first baseman Mark Kotsay, finished second in the voting with 15% of the vote. Lisa Podsednik, wife of Scott Podsednik of the Colorado Rockies, was third with 14% of the final vote.
Fantasy Baseball Dugout posted pictures of the beautiful wives of professional baseball players all season and the top 10, based on searches from the site itself, were placed in the final competition. The voting began in August and ended at the conclusion of the World Series.
“Heidi DeRosa really led from start to finish and if you see her picture on the site, you’ll certainly understand why,” said BallparkBob (Bentz), publisher of Fantasy Baseball Dugout. “Anna Benson made a nice run at the end due to a few people stuffing the votes for her, but DeRosa won easily.”
Readers were permitted to vote by text message as many times as they desired for their favorite baseball wife. BallparkBob said multiple voting for the same wife was perfectly fair. “We wanted to engage our readers and if they felt that strongly about a particular wife, why not. The people over at PromoTXT (a mobile marketing company) handled the text message voting and they were ok with multiple votes per cell phone so we went with it.”

This may not count, as he hasn’t pitched all that recently (although I do believe he’s collected some fat checks somewhat recently), but the wife of former Pitt/ATL SP Denny Neagle is bangin’! I’m talkin’ jaw-dropping stunner. Sorry I don’t the know the name, and you may or may not already be aware of her…so either I’ve wasted your time or you’re in for a treat lol.

Lane - thanks for the suggestion, but Emily is only Zack’s fiancee. Therefore, she’s not quite ready to be added to our list of nominees for baseball’s hottest wife.
She is on our radar for the 2010 competition, however. Thanks!
