These guys surely aren’t struggling with the recent downturn in the economy. Not surprisingly, the Yankees have 5 of the top 11 salaried players in the MLB for 2008. Makes it more understandable why they need a new Yankee Stadium.

7. Johan Santana, Mets $16.9 m

8. Todd Helton, Rockies $16.6 m

9. Torii Hunter, Angels $16.5 m

10. Andy Pettitte, Yankees $16.0 m

11. Bobby Abreu, Yankees $16.0 m

12. Carlos Zambrano, Cubs $16.0 m

13. Carlos Delgado, Mets $16.0 m
