Fantasy Baseball Effects Of C.C. Sabathia, Brewers Trade
As it has been reported since Sunday, rumors of a trade between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Indians involving C.C. Sabathia seem to be coming true.
The Indians lefty is rumored to be on the move to the Brew Crew for a collection of prospects, including outfielder Matt LaPorta, who suits up for AA-Huntsville. Full details of the trade should be released today.
Unfortunately, fantasy owners of Sabathia in AL-only leagues really lose out here, because you will have a great pitcher (especially in two-start weeks) taken away from you with nothing to show for it. Once this trade becomes official, all fantasy owners in NL-only leagues should hit the waiver wire and put in their request for the newly eligible fantasy ace.
Mixed league owners of Sabathia should continue playing him, as he was likely their first pitcher drafted in April. Sabathia has won FBD Pitcher of the Week twice this season and hasn’t lost a start since June 5. On the downside, Sabathia will likely not make two-starts in fantasy baseball Week 15.
On the season, Sabathia is 6-8 with a 3.83 ERA, 123 strikeouts and a 1.23 WHIP.

Updating this article, Sabathia is STILL eligible to be a two-start pitcher in Week 15. He should be taking the mound for the Brewers for the first time Tuesday, 7/8, and Sunday, 7/13.
