While Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies went home with the NL MVP hardware in 2007, it’s hard to argue against Matt Holliday of the Colorado Rockies being the most valuable player to any team in the National League last year.
If only MVP voting was held after the playoffs, right Rox fans?
Many will question his MVP merits from last season, but coming into the 2008 season, there’s no question that Holliday is the top outfielder in fantasy baseball.
Holliday hits over .300, will score and drive in over 100 runs, and has hit over 30 homeruns each of the past two seasons. Those of you who require outfielders to steal bases, fear not… Holliday has posted over 10 steals each of the last two years, also.
On top of all that, Holliday plays 81 games a year in the friendly confines and thin air of Coors Field. In 2008, there is no better outfielder to build your squad around than Matt Holliday.
